Yato ca kho tvaṃ, bhikkhu, accayaṃ accayato disvā yathādhammaṃ paṭikarosi, taṃ te mayaṃ paṭiggaṇhāma. Vuḍḍhihesā, bhikkhu, ariyassa vinaye yo accayaṃ accayato disvā yathādhammaṃ paṭikaroti āyatiṃ saṃvaraṃ āpajjatī’’ti.

Atha kho āyasmā sāriputto sāvatthiyaṃ piṇḍāya caritvā pacchābhattaṃ piṇḍapātapaṭikkanto yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkami; upasaṅkamitvā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ nisīdi. ‘‘Gaṇḍoti kho, bhikkhave, imassetaṃ cātumahābhūtikassa [cātummahābhūtikassa (sī. syā. pī.)] kāyassa adhivacanaṃ mātāpettikasambhavassa odanakummāsūpacayassa aniccucchādanaparimaddanabhedanaviddhaṃsanadhammassa. Tassassu gaṇḍassa nava vaṇamukhāni nava abhedanamukhāni. Tato yaṃ kiñci paggharati – asuciyeva paggharati, duggandhaṃyeva paggharati, jegucchiyaṃyeva paggharati; yaṃ kiñci pasavati – asuciyeva pasavati, duggandhaṃyeva pasavati, jegucchiyaṃyeva pasavati. 16. ‘‘Navayimā, bhikkhave, saññā bhāvitā bahulīkatā mahapphalā honti mahānisaṃsā amatogadhā amatapariyosānā. Katamā nava ? Asubhasaññā, maraṇasaññā, āhāre paṭikūlasaññā [paṭikkūlasaññā (sī. syā. pī.)], sabbaloke anabhiratasaññā [anabhiratisaññā (ka.) a. ni. 5.121-122], aniccasaññā, anicce dukkhasaññā, dukkhe anattasaññā, pahānasaññā, virāgasaññā – imā kho, bhikkhave, nava saññā, bhāvitā bahulīkatā mahapphalā honti mahānisaṃsā amatogadhā amatapariyosānā’’ti. 17. ‘‘Navahi, bhikkhave, aṅgehi samannāgataṃ kulaṃ anupagantvā vā nālaṃ upagantuṃ, upagantvā vā nālaṃ nisīdituṃ. Katamehi navahi? Na manāpena paccuṭṭhenti, na manāpena abhivādenti, na manāpena āsanaṃ denti, santamassa pariguhanti, bahukampi thokaṃ denti, paṇītampi lūkhaṃ denti, asakkaccaṃ denti no sakkaccaṃ, na upanisīdanti dhammassavanāya, bhāsitamassa na sussūsanti. 15 "比丘们，譬如有一个存在多年的疮。这疮有九个伤口，九个裂口。从中无论流出什么，都是不净之物流出，都是恶臭之物流出，都是可厌之物流出；无论渗出什么，都是不净之物渗出，都是恶臭之物渗出，都是可厌之物渗出。
"比丘们，'疮'是这四大所成、父母所生、饭食所养、无常需涂抹按摩、必败坏分散之身的代称。这疮有九个伤口，九个裂口。从中无论流出什么，都是不净之物流出，都是恶臭之物流出，都是可厌之物流出；无论渗出什么，都是不净之物渗出，都是恶臭之物渗出，都是可厌之物渗出。因此，比丘们，你们应当厌离此身。"第五。
6 "比丘们，这九种想若修习、多修，则有大果、大利，以不死为归趣，以不死为究竟。哪九种？不净想、死想、食厌逆想、一切世间不乐想、无常想、无常即苦想、苦即无我想、断想、离贪想。比丘们，这九种想若修习、多修，则有大果、大利，以不死为归趣，以不死为究竟。"第六。
7 "比丘们，具足九支的家族，不该去拜访，已去则不该坐。哪九支？不以可意相迎，不以可意问候，不以可意给座，有物藏匿，有多给少，有胜给劣，不恭敬地给予而非恭敬地给予，不坐近听法，不乐闻所说。比丘们，具足这九支的家族，不该去拜访，已去则不该坐。
比丘们，具足九支的家族，不去也该去，已去则该坐。哪九支？以可意相迎，以可意问候，以可意给座，有物不藏匿，有多给多，有胜给胜，恭敬地给予而非不恭敬地给予，坐近听法，乐闻所说。比丘们，具足这九支的家族，不去也该去，已去则该坐。"第七。

18. ‘‘Navahi , bhikkhave, aṅgehi samannāgato uposatho upavuttho mahapphalo hoti mahānisaṃso mahājutiko mahāvipphāro. Kathaṃ upavuttho ca, bhikkhave, navahaṅgehi samannāgato uposatho mahapphalo hoti mahānisaṃso mahājutiko mahāvipphāro? Idha, bhikkhave, ariyasāvako iti paṭisañcikkhati – ‘yāvajīvaṃ arahanto pāṇātipātaṃ pahāya pāṇātipātā paṭiviratā nihitadaṇḍā nihitasatthā lajjī dayāpannā sabbapāṇabhūtahitānukampino viharanti; ahampajja imañca rattiṃ imañca divasaṃ pāṇātipātaṃ pahāya pāṇātipātā paṭivirato nihitadaṇḍo nihitasattho lajjī dayāpanno sabbapāṇabhūtahitānukampī viharāmi. ‘‘‘Yāvajīvaṃ arahanto uccāsayanamahāsayanaṃ pahāya uccāsayanamahāsayanā paṭiviratā nīcaseyyaṃ kappenti – mañcake vā tiṇasanthārake vā; ahampajja imañca rattiṃ imañca divasaṃ uccāsayanamahāsayanaṃ pahāya uccāsayanamahāsayanā paṭivirato nīcaseyyaṃ kappemi – mañcake vā tiṇasanthārake vā. Imināpaṅgena arahataṃ anukaromi; uposatho ca me upavuttho bhavissatī’ti. Iminā aṭṭhamena aṅgena samannāgato hoti.

‘‘Mettāsahagatena cetasā ekaṃ disaṃ pharitvā viharati, tathā dutiyaṃ tathā tatiyaṃ tathā catutthaṃ. Iti uddhamadho tiriyaṃ sabbadhi sabbattatāya sabbāvantaṃ lokaṃ mettāsahagatena cetasā vipulena mahaggatena appamāṇena averena abyāpajjena [abyāpajjhena (ka.), abyābajjhena (?)] pharitvā viharati. Iminā navamena aṅgena samannāgato hoti. Evaṃ upavuttho kho, bhikkhave, navahaṅgehi samannāgato uposatho mahapphalo hoti mahānisaṃso mahājutiko mahāvipphāro’’ti. Aṭṭhamaṃ.

18 "比丘们，具足九支的布萨若持守，则有大果、大利、大光辉、大遍满。比丘们，如何持守具足九支的布萨而有大果、大利、大光辉、大遍满？在此，比丘们，圣弟子如是思维：'阿罗汉们尽形寿断除杀生，远离杀生，放下棒杖，放下刀剑，有惭愧心，具慈悲心，利益哀愍一切众生而住。我今日这一夜这一日，也断除杀生，远离杀生，放下棒杖，放下刀剑，有惭愧心，具慈悲心，利益哀愍一切众生而住。以此支分我效法阿罗汉们，我的布萨将得持守。'这是具足第一支分...乃至...
'阿罗汉们尽形寿断除高广大床，远离高广大床，以低处为卧具——或床或草铺；我今日这一夜这一日，也断除高广大床，远离高广大床，以低处为卧具——或床或草铺。以此支分我效法阿罗汉们，我的布萨将得持守。'这是具足第八支分。
以慈心遍满一方而住，如是第二方，如是第三方，如是第四方。如是上下四维，普遍一切处，以广大、无量、无怨、无恼的慈心遍满整个世界而住。这是具足第九支分。比丘们，如是持守具足九支的布萨，则有大果、大利、大光辉、大遍满。"第八。
9 天神

19. ‘‘Imañca, bhikkhave, rattiṃ sambahulā devatā abhikkantāya rattiyā abhikkantavaṇṇā kevalakappaṃ jetavanaṃ obhāsetvā yenāhaṃ tenupasaṅkamiṃsu; upasaṅkamitvā maṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ aṭṭhaṃsu. Jhāyatha, bhikkhave, mā pamādattha, mā pacchā vippaṭisārino ahuvattha seyyathāpi tā purimikā devatā’’ti. Navamaṃ.

19 "比丘们，在这一夜，众多天神在深夜时分，以殊胜容色遍照祇园，来到我这里。来到后，礼敬我，站在一旁。比丘们，那些站在一旁的天神对我如是说：'尊者，当我们以前为人时，有出家人来到我们的住处。我们虽然起身迎接，但没有礼敬。因此，尊者，我们业行不圆满，追悔懊恼，生在低劣之处。'"
"比丘们，又有众多天神来到我这里说：'尊者，当我们以前为人时，有出家人来到我们的住处。我们虽然起身迎接和礼敬，但没有给他们座位。因此，尊者，我们业行不圆满，追悔懊恼，生在低劣之处。'"
"比丘们，又有众多天神来到我这里说：'尊者，当我们以前为人时，有出家人来到我们的住处。我们虽然起身迎接、礼敬和给座位，但没有随己所能、随己所力分享...乃至...虽然随己所能、随己所力分享，但没有亲近听法...乃至...虽然亲近听法，但没有专注听闻法...乃至...虽然专注听闻法，但没有受持所闻之法...乃至...虽然受持所闻之法，但没有观察所受持法的义理...乃至...虽然观察所受持法的义理，但没有了解义理、了解法义后如法修行。因此，尊者，我们业行不圆满，追悔懊恼，生在低劣之处。'"
"比丘们，又有众多天神来到我这里说：'尊者，当我们以前为人时，有出家人来到我们的住处。我们起身迎接、礼敬，给座位，随己所能、随己所力分享，亲近听法，专注听闻法，受持所闻之法，观察所受持法的义理，了解义理、了解法义后如法修行。因此，尊者，我们业行圆满，无追悔懊恼，生在胜妙之处。'比丘们，这些是树下，这些是空闲处。比丘们，你们要禅修，不要放逸，不要后来追悔，如那些先前的天神一样。"第九。
10 毗罗摩经

20. Ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā sāvatthiyaṃ viharati jetavane anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme. Atha kho anāthapiṇḍiko gahapati yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkami; upasaṅkamitvā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ nisīdi. Ekamantaṃ nisinnaṃ kho anāthapiṇḍikaṃ gahapatiṃ bhagavā etadavoca –

‘‘Api nu te, gahapati, kule dānaṃ dīyatī’’ti? ‘‘Dīyati me, bhante, kule dānaṃ; tañca kho lūkhaṃ kaṇājakaṃ biḷaṅgadutiya’’nti. ‘‘Lūkhañcepi [lūkhaṃ vāpi (syā.), lūkhañcāpi (ka.)], gahapati, dānaṃ deti paṇītaṃ vā; tañca asakkaccaṃ deti, acittīkatvā [acittiṃ katvā (ka.), apacittiṃ katvā (syā.), acittikatvā (pī.)] deti, asahatthā deti, apaviddhaṃ [apaviṭṭhaṃ (syā.)] deti, anāgamanadiṭṭhiko deti. Yepissa te honti puttāti vā dārāti vā dāsāti vā pessāti vā kammakarāti vā, tepi na sussūsanti na sotaṃ odahanti na aññā cittaṃ upaṭṭhapenti. Taṃ kissa hetu? Evañhetaṃ [evañcetaṃ (syā. ka.)], gahapati, hoti asakkaccaṃ katānaṃ kammānaṃ vipāko’’.

‘‘Lūkhañcepi, gahapati, dānaṃ deti paṇītaṃ vā; tañca sakkaccaṃ deti, cittīkatvā deti, sahatthā deti, anapaviddhaṃ deti, āgamanadiṭṭhiko deti. Yattha yattha tassa tassa dānassa vipāko nibbattati, uḷārāya bhattabhogāya cittaṃ namati, uḷārāya vatthabhogāya cittaṃ namati, uḷārāya yānabhogāya cittaṃ namati, uḷāresu pañcasu kāmaguṇesu bhogāya cittaṃ namati. 20 一时，世尊住在舍卫城（现今印度北方邦斯拉瓦斯提）祇树给孤独园。那时，给孤独长者来到世尊处。来到后，礼敬世尊，坐在一旁。世尊对坐在一旁的给孤独长者如是说：
"长者，你家中还在布施吗？""尊者，我家中有布施；但那是粗劣的糠米粥配咸菜。"
"长者，无论布施粗劣或殊胜之物；如果不恭敬地布施，不尊重地布施，不亲手布施，如废物般布施，无见未来果报地布施。那布施的果报无论在何处生起，心不倾向殊胜的饮食受用，心不倾向殊胜的衣服受用，心不倾向殊胜的车乘受用，心不倾向殊胜的五欲功德受用。即使有儿子、妻子、奴仆、差使、工人，他们也不听从、不注意、不集中心意。这是什么原因？长者，这就是不恭敬所作诸业的果报。"
"长者，无论布施粗劣或殊胜之物；如果恭敬地布施，尊重地布施，亲手布施，不如废物般布施，见未来果报地布施。那布施的果报无论在何处生起，心倾向殊胜的饮食受用，心倾向殊胜的衣服受用，心倾向殊胜的车乘受用，心倾向殊胜的五欲功德受用。即使有儿子、妻子、奴仆、差使、工人，他们也听从、注意、集中心意。这是什么原因？长者，这就是恭敬所作诸业的果报。"
"长者，往昔有一位名叫毗罗摩的婆罗门。他作如是布施，大布施。他布施八万四千金钵盛满银，八万四千银钵盛满金，八万四千铜钵盛满珍宝，八万四千象具金饰、金幢、以金网覆盖，八万四千车以狮皮覆盖、虎皮覆盖、豹皮覆盖、红毛毯覆盖，具金饰、金幢、以金网覆盖，八万四千乳牛系以细麻绳..."

Ahaṃ tena samayena velāmo brāhmaṇo ahosiṃ. Ahaṃ taṃ dānaṃ adāsiṃ mahādānaṃ. Tasmiṃ kho pana, gahapati, dāne na koci dakkhiṇeyyo ahosi, na taṃ koci dakkhiṇaṃ visodheti.

‘‘Yaṃ, gahapati, velāmo brāhmaṇo dānaṃ adāsi mahādānaṃ, yo cekaṃ diṭṭhisampannaṃ bhojeyya, idaṃ tato mahapphalataraṃ.

"系以细麻绳和铜质乳桶，布施八万四千少女佩戴宝珠耳环，布施八万四千座椅铺以长毛毯、白毯、花毯，以鹿皮为最上铺具，有顶盖，两端有红色靠枕，布施八万四千俱胤衣料，细麻布、细丝绸、细羊毛、细棉布，更不用说饮食、点心、餐食、舐食、饮料，如河流般倾泻。"
"长者，你或许会这样想：'那时的毗罗摩婆罗门一定是别人，是他作那大布施。'长者，不应如是见。那时的毗罗摩婆罗门就是我。是我作那大布施。然而，长者，在那布施中没有应供者，没有人能净化那供养。"
"长者，如毗罗摩婆罗门所作大布施，若有人供养一位具足见的人，这较前者有更大果报。"
"若有人供养百位具足见的人，供养一位一来者，这较前者有更大果报。"

3.211] mettacittaṃ bhāveyya, ( ) [(yo ca accharāsaṅghātamattampi aniccasaññaṃ bhāveyya) (ka.)] idaṃ tato mahapphalataraṃ.
